I’m Julia, a reader who grew up in fictional worlds.
I’ve always loved things a little too much—stories, adventure, travel. And now I cope with that by writing my own stories and occasionally dressing up as fictional characters. I’m always captivated by a good anime, an immersive story world, and characters who become a little found family.
When I’m not writing, I’m down for any good adventure. You can usually find me traveling the world, training martial arts, and dreaming of the comicons I can attend.
I’m always here to nerd out about…
Animeee!
(mostly One Piece, let’s be honest…)
All the books.
All the fantasy.
All the scifi.
Martial arts!
(specifically brazillian jiu jitsu)
Found family
and belonging, and finding your people
Travel
And comicons, and conferences, and visiting friends!
Cosplay stuff!
And all the crazy that comes with that 🙂
I know it feels like your heart is too big for people to understand…
But I promise you. It’s not.

Julia Naus can’t go five minutes in a crowd without making a new friend.
After spending her teenage years as the odd one out, she endeavors to give everyone a place to belong. She writes stories that give readers the courage to find their place in the world—stories of found family that make fictional worlds feel like home. On a regular day she can be found drinking her fourth cup of coffee, wrangling her four siblings, and obsessively training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Her short story, Ghost in the Garden, was published in Voices of the Future Volume Four: Stories of Adventure and Imagination, which sold over 1,000 copies in its first two months. To connect with Julia, you can find her squealing about her favorite shows and cosplay on instagram (@julianausauthor) or join her email list for regular travel and writing updates.
